KNIGHTSBRIDGE + INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL: Trained, Native English-Speaking Retainer/SEN Nanny (B11, B9 & B5.5 years) – ASAP/October start – £70,000–£75,000 gpa
A busy, high-profile family in Knightsbridge is seeking an experienced, professionally trained and highly adaptable Retainer Nanny to join their established childcare team, caring for three school-age boys. This is an unusual and excellent opportunity for a mature, capable nanny who enjoys working as part of a professional team and understands the flexibility required within a formal private household. The Retainer Nanny will provide continuity of care across the existing nanny team, principally covering the permanent rota nannies during periods of annual leave, sickness and other absences. Flexibility is therefore central to the position, and the successful candidate must be comfortable adapting their working pattern according to the family's childcare requirements. Previous experience with SEN is highly desirable, particularly supporting children with ASC and ADHD. The nanny should have a calm, consistent and emotionally intelligent approach, with the confidence to maintain established routines and boundaries and adapt appropriately to the individual needs of each child. The family is looking for someone who is engaging and warm with the children, but equally polished, discreet and professional. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, together with the ability to work autonomously when required and collaboratively with the other nannies and wider household team. This is a fully staffed household, so the nanny's focus is entirely child-related. When the children are at school, responsibilities will include childcare administration, organising schedules and activities, and forward planning for evenings, weekends, school holidays and travel. Previous experience in a rota or retainer position would be a distinct advantage, as would experience within formal or UHNW households. The family travels regularly during the school holidays, both within Europe and internationally, and the Retainer Nanny must be completely comfortable accompanying them and working flexibly whilst travelling. The family also has three dogs, so candidates should be comfortable around pets. The ideal candidate will offer:
A top salary package of £70,000 gpa, rising to £75,000 gpa following successful completion of probation, is offered for the right candidate. For further information, please call Nannies of St James on 0207 610 9218 or email info@nanniesofstjames.com.
