A professional, working family in Wandsworth (near the common and "the toast rack") is seeking a PT, Combined Entity, Daily Nanny to support them with their 3 children; 4 & twins of 9 years. Great experience with these age groups is crucial and formal training (eg: Norland) is highly desirable, and the family is open to both native English or Spanish applicants and due to the hours, this role would be best suited to someone relatively local.

  • This is a "Combined Entity" role, part-time in school term + full-time in the holidays. Termtime hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 09:00 & 13:00 - 19:30

Our clients are seeking an experienced, robust and confident nanny to care for their three children in a shared-care arrangement with Mum. The ideal candidate will be calm, adaptable, and able to respond to last-minute changes without fluster. Our clients value a nanny who understands boundaries, can meet children at their level, bring humour to challenging moments and help diffuse situations in a warm but confident manner. There have been a few changes this year incl: their long-term nanny leaving and the youngest recently started school, so they are looking for someone who can bring consistency, warmth and a sense of calm to the household during this transition.

The role is to replace the family's long-standing, Spanish nanny who has recently moved on to pastures new, and they are seeking another candidate who would like to commit to being part of their family. This is a busy household and full, standard nanny duties will be required and this will be a shared care appointment with Mum who primarily focuses on the twins with the nanny having responsibility for the 4 year-old. All children are at the same school (Clapham) and a driver is preferred, as is someone who is confident riding a cargo bike (some activities the bike is the best mode of transport). There are after-school activities, clubs and social events and the nanny will support with school runs.

About the role:

  • Shared-care with Mum across both parents’ homes, supporting the children as they settle into this arrangement.
  • Primary responsibility for the youngest child, with active, supportive involvement for the other two as needed.
  • Manage school runs, after-school activities and the logistics of a busy family life.
  • Maintain daily structures and routines, while remaining flexible to evolving needs.
  • Foster a calm, capable presence and act as a trusted teammate to Mum and the family team.
  • Use developmentally appropriate activities to encourage learning through daily interactions, play and real-world experiences.
  • Maintain age-appropriate boundaries, diffuse situations with warmth and confidence and model positive behaviour.
  • There will be some travel during the school holidays, usually no more than 2 weeks at a time, and it would be wonderful if the new nanny could accompany the family on holiday.
  • Comfortable around pets, there is a family pet, a show Cocker spaniel.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience caring for three children in a busy, multi-home family environment, with children of similar ages.
  • Confident London driver required + someone who is also a cargo-bike cyclist is highly desirable/preferred.
  • Calm, adaptable, emotionally intelligent, and able to handle last-minute changes gracefully.
  • Strong boundaries, ability to get down to a child’s level, and a sense of humour to navigate challenging moments.
  • Excellent communication skills and reliability; a true team player who can coordinate with Mum and other caregivers.
  • Comfortable working across two homes and supporting the children through transitions and routine changes.
  • Safety-conscious, patient and enthusiastic about helping children thrive.

The role is to start at the nanny's earliest opportunity this autumn. Please submit your CV and a short cover letter outlining your experience with multiple children and two-home arrangements, plus references. Include your availability and a preferred start date: info@nanniesofstjames.com.  Or we are available to discuss further details of this appointment by phone: 0207 610 9218.
