Description

BERMUDA: Temporary, **Norland-trained Nanny** | Jan 2027 (3 month booking) | $$$$$$

January 2027 start | 3-month booking | G13 & B15 | Monday–Friday | Live-in during working week | Excellent salary package

A fabulous opportunity for an experienced Norland-trained Nanny to spend three months in Bermuda, covering the maternity leave of our clients’ long-standing Norland Nanny.

We have known this lovely  family since the birth of their eldest child 15 years ago and they have consistently employed Norland-trained nannies throughout that time.

There are two children, B15, who is away at boarding school, and G13, who will be the nanny’s primary charge. At this age, the role is naturally less about traditional nanny duties and much more about being an excellent mentor, companion and trusted presence for a bright, independent and sociable teenager.

Their daughter has a wide circle of friends and enjoys being active, exploring and having interesting plans in place. The nanny should be warm and engaging, but also highly organised, sensible and confident, with the maturity to strike the right balance between encouraging independence and providing appropriate guidance and boundaries.

The position is Monday to Friday, living in at the family residence while on duty. At weekends, the nanny will have the use of a separate apartment in Bermuda, allowing plenty of independence and downtime.

This is a fully staffed household, so candidates should be accustomed to working professionally and collaboratively within a private household team. The family leads a busy international lifestyle and their principal home is in Bermuda, with regular travel to their homes in London, Switzerland and Jamaica. Previous experience working with an international/travelling family would therefore be highly advantageous.

Candidates must be confident travelling with children and comfortable with both air and yacht travel – good sea legs are essential!

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Norland-trained, ideally with at least four years’ professional experience.
  • Polished, discreet, articulate and an excellent communicator.
  • Energetic, proactive and highly organised.
  • Confident and self-sufficient, particularly when working overseas.
  • Experienced with older children/teenagers and comfortable taking on a mentoring role.
  • A confident driver – a car will be provided for the nanny’s use.
  • Experienced with international travel and ideally previous overseas positions.
  • Happy to embrace island life and make the most of everything Bermuda has to offer.

  • The nanny will be representing a well-known family both locally in Bermuda and while travelling, so a high level of professionalism and discretion is essential.
  • A UK/EEC passport is essential due to the family’s international travel requirements.
  • This is a wonderful short-term opportunity for a first-class Norland Nanny looking for an interesting overseas booking, with an excellent salary package for the right candidate.

Video interviews are taking place now for a January 2027 start. For further details, please call 0207 610 9218. Candidates new to Nannies of St James should send their CV and references to info@nanniesofstjames.com.

Please note that, due to the specific requirements of this position, only candidates who closely match the client’s criteria will be contacted.
