Description

A fantastic opportunity for a Norland (or formally-trained) Nanny to join a warm, welcoming family based in sunny Los Angeles.

  • Position: Live-in Nanny.
  • Children: 2 children; currently G3.5 years & 9-month-old baby.
  • Start date: Flexible
  • Location: Los Angeles with travel (both domestic and international)
  • Accommodation: own bedroom & ensuite bathroom (within family home).
  • J1 Visa sponsorship (visa restrictions apply), or US passport or Green Card (essential requirement).
  • Driver Preferred (car provided).
  • Salary: Competitive for the right candidate.

This high-profile, international family is seeking a calm, nurturing and developmentally-minded nanny to care for their two young children — a bright and curious little girl (3.5 years) and younger baby sibling (9 months).

This role offers a mixed blend of sole charge and shared care, but with plenty of autonomy. Our clients are deeply engaged in their children's lives yet trust and value proactive childcare. This is ideal for a Norlander who wants to make a meaningful impact while also working in partnership with engaged parents who respect professional boundaries.

Both parents have busy careers; with Dad working outside the home full-time and Mum working from home but dipping in and out between calls. Their jobs also require regular travel, so there will be times where you'll have full charge, especially when proxy parenting is required.

  • Working Hours: 08:00 – 19:00, with flexibility for some evenings/weekends (time off in lieu) and travel/proxy support.

A confident yet gentle, discreet and engaging candidate would work well for the family. It is also important for the nanny to have a thorough understanding of the Early Years and be experienced working with children of a similar age; continuing any established routines and adapting, as necessary. The nanny should be a good communicator, who respects boundaries, knowing when to help and when to step back to support elsewhere.

With the family’s main residence based an hour North of LA, but with time spent in central LA too – this role would suit a candidate who is enjoys both countryside and city work environments. As the family also travel, a candidate open to travelling and with previous experience of supporting families overseas is essential.

The family employ a full-time housekeeper to support the household, but light cooking is required for the children. There is also dog within the home, so someone pet-friendly is a must.

The family’s current temporary nanny is very happy and staying on until the right person is found, so although the family are keen to move forward, they are not in an immediate rush and able to offer some flexibility in start date.
